Coastal Resilience
If there's one thing to focus on in response to human-induced climate change, it's mankind's relationship to the ocean.
This blue planet of ours is primarily water - the relationship between the ocean, atmosphere, and hydrosphere is undeniably interconnected. Therefore, making the blue economy (wherever humans touch water) sustainable is the most critical strategy for creating coastal city resilience.
The Earth will continue to populate and densify the coastlines for a host of high-conviction reasons and creating capacity to withstand adverse shocks and securing value chains will be the most efficient use of our financial, social and natural capitals.
